England reveals their ODI team for the 2025 Champions Trophy and India tour

Joe Root makes a comeback.

The England ODI team for the 2025 Champions Trophy and India tour has been revealed. For the first time since the 2023 World Cup, Joe Root is back in the England ODI starting lineup. Prior to the international competition, the star batsman will play in a three-match ODI series against India as part of the 15-man squad selected for the Champions Trophy 2025.

Root has returned to the team, indicating a mix of youth and experience in the team's strategy as Brendon McCullum takes over as the new all-format head coach. Mark Wood and Jofra Archer are the leaders of England's strong-speed assault. Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, Gus Atkinson, and Saqib Mahmood are standing by them. After putting up strong performances in recent months, rising sensation Jacob Bethell has been called up for his first ICC event. Will Jacks, a versatile player, has been left out, although Jamie Smith has also been included.
