Manchester United overcame a deficit to defeat struggling Southampton 3-1 thanks to an incredible late hat-trick from Amad Diallo. After Manuel Ugarte converted Tyler Dibling's flick-on past Andre Onana just before halftime, United were headed for their fourth consecutive Premier League home loss.

But with eight minutes left, Diallo, who had tied the score late in United's 2-2 league draw with Liverpool the previous time out, launched the comeback by guiding under Aaron Ramsdale. After Christian Eriksen's deft dink gave Diallo another goal in the 90th minute, the winger took advantage of Taylor Harwood-Bellis' mistake to roll into an empty net four minutes later. While Diallo saved Antony's blushes following his teammate's inexplicable mistake on the hour from Alejandro Garnacho's left-sided cross, United's 22-year-old's heroics helped Ruben Amorim escape a crushing loss to the league's worst team.
