After a close win against Pakistan, South Africa advances to the WTC 2025 Final

South Africa has made history.

South Africa made history by becoming the first side to earn a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. For the first time in three iterations of this esteemed Test competition, the Proteas advanced to the finals after defeating Pakistan by two wickets. The 2025 WTC Final will take place at the legendary Lord's Stadium from June 11–15. The Proteas had to rely on Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada to win the game since they were behind in it, so it was an emotional victory. In the WTC 2025 final, they will either play Australia or India.

Due to the outstanding bowling of Mohammad Abbas, who had career-best statistics of six for 54, South Africa collapsed to 99 for eight when they needed 148 runs to win. Before Jansen (16 not out) struck the game-winning runs to guarantee the last berth in the World Test Championship (WTC), Rabada launched an offensive strike, hitting 31 not out.
