Sergio González's red card in the first half of Leganes' 1-0 La Liga loss to Rayo Vallecano on Friday put an end to the team's current winning streak. With a five-game winning streak that includes a home victory against Atletico Madrid and a draw away at Athletic Bilbao, Leganes had not lost since before Christmas.

However, it spent a large portion of the first half on the defensive, and just before halftime, González brought down Nteka on the box's edge and was given a straight red. The big center back has one of the best disciplinary records in La Liga this season, with only two yellow cards in 24 games, and the award was harsh. It allowed Rayo to push further forward in the second half and the winner came 13 minutes from time through Pathé Ciss.
