Sergio Perez is reportedly in discussions to join Cadillac’s Formula 1 team
Sergio Perez, a six-time Grand Prix winner, is reportedly in discussions to join Cadillac’s Formula 1 team for the 2026 season.
According to Spanish media source Marca, six-time Grand Prix champion Sergio Perez is allegedly in talks to join Cadillac's Formula 1 team for the 2026 season. Perez is considering a full-time return to Red Bull Racing after leaving the team following a difficult 2024 season. Perez was forced to sit out at least a year because of the timing of his departure from Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season, which left him without a seat for the 2025 season. But his management team is working hard to guarantee a position for 2026, when two more seats will become available on the grid due to new regulations.
Late last year, the FIA and Formula One Management (FOM) allowed Cadillac, supported by General Motors, to enter Formula 1. The sport will grow to 11 teams when the team joins the grid in 2026.
