Everton and Manchester United draw, 2-2
Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure scored for Everton in the four-goal thriller.
At Goodison Park, United suffered their ninth league defeat in the last thirteen games as Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure handed Everton a two-goal lead in the opening thirty-three minutes. Before Manuel Ugarte's equalizer saved a point, Fernandes' free kick gave Ruben Amorim's squad their first goal eighteen minutes from the end. Everton was given a penalty deep into stoppage time, but referee Andy Madley reversed his judgment following a VAR review, setting up further late drama.
In Amorim's first home league game, United easily won 4-0, but since then, he has only achieved three wins in 13 league games with the struggling 15th-place team. In another Premier League match, Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over third-bottom Ipswich relieved pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou. Son Heung-min played a big role in that win. His cutback was tapped in by Brennan Johnson to give Tottenham the lead in the eighteenth minute. Eight minutes later, Johnson scored again with a precise shot after receiving another assist from Son.
