Former Ferrari driver Nigel Mansell has thrown his support behind Lewis Hamilton after the seven-time World Champion’s “absolutely brilliant” move to the Scuderia.
Former Ferrari driver Nigel Mansell has praised Lewis Hamilton’s move to the Scuderia, calling it “absolutely brilliant.” Hamilton ended his long Mercedes tenure to take on a fresh challenge with Ferrari, officially making the switch at the start of the year with an emotional visit to Maranello. He later tested Ferrari’s older machinery before driving the SF-25 in Bahrain’s pre-season test.
Speaking in Sakhir, Hamilton expressed his excitement, stating he was “really enjoying” his time behind the wheel and focusing solely on winning with Ferrari. Mansell, who raced for Ferrari in 1989-90 and won the 1992 title with Williams, believes Hamilton has what it takes to succeed. Speaking at the F1 75 Live launch in London, he said, “40 years young, I think it’s brilliant. He’s got most of the fans behind him, and I’m certainly one of them.”
