Callum Hudson-Odoi gives Forest an important win over City
Forest builds on their lead over City.
Callum Hudson-Odoi's late winner at the City Ground gave Forest a four-point lead over City in third place. The former Chelsea winger scored past Ederson 83 minutes from Morgan Gibbs-White's assist to ignite exuberant scenes of joy as Forest upset the English champions for the first time since 1997.
Two-time European champions, Forest have not participated in the Europe’s top competition since 1980. The team is still closer to a top-four finish. Currently, City occupies the fourth slot and has seen a dramatic shift in their performance after a ninth loss of the season. Chelsea could overtake the side when they take on Leicester on Sunday. The competition is quite close, as Aston Villa closed to within two points of the top four, and Ollie Watkins once again haunted Brentford in a 1-0 win in West London.
