Vicario struggling with set pieces for Italy and Tottenham

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has conceded four goals in his last two appearances for Italy, all of which have come from set-pieces.

Actually, every one of the previous six goals against Italy has come from set pieces; four of those goals were let up with Vicario in goal, while the other two were overseen by Gianluigi Donnarumma. For the most of the year, Vicario has been worried about set pieces at the club level. He has lost both of his most recent international caps due to that aspect of his game.

After being boxed out by an opposition defender during last month's 4-1 victory over Israel, the former Empoli goalie did not get close to a corner. After only two minutes of play against France on Sunday night, he let up another goal from a corner when Adrien Rabiot easily intercepted Lucas Digne's cross in San Siro. Digne then smacked him on the rebound off the crossbar with a wonderfully delivered free-kick, technically giving the 28-year-old an own goal.
