In a dull Premier League match at Craven Cottage, Manchester United defeated Fulham 1-0 thanks to a fortunate attempt by Lisandro Martinez. A stunning slice of luck ended a poor game as Martinez's 30-yard effort floated over Bernd Leno in the Fulham goal after deflecting off Sasa Lukic.

Amad Diallo had a second goal disallowed late on, with the goal scored on-pitch but overruled following a VAR review for offside. It was the sole effort on target for Ruben Amorim's team, who had previously failed to really affect their opponents. To be honest, Fulham had not produced much of their own until Joachim Andersen's thunderous header was spectacularly pushed off the line by replacement Toby Collyer in the final moments. Fulham's efforts were rewarded with a number of Alex Iwobi stingers, while United only had one attempt in a boring first half.
