Trey Murphy III scores 32 points as the Pelicans defeat the Bulls

After winning 123-111 at home in the season opener, New Orleans took a sweep of the season series.

The visiting New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Chicago Bulls 119-113 on Tuesday thanks to a game-high 32 points from Trey Murphy III and 21 points and nine assists from Zion Williamson. New Orleans ended a 2-1 road trip by outscoring Chicago 33-27 in the fourth quarter, with a 16-point advantage at one point.

For New Orleans, Dejounte Murray (15 points) and Jose Alvarado (12 points) both scored in double digits. With 33.4 seconds remaining, the Pelicans won the game at the free-throw line after the Bulls launched a 10-1 run to pull within four points. With 25 points, Zach LaVine led Chicago and ended his career-long run of six games in which he scored 30 points or more. Chicago lost for the third time in four games, with Coby White scoring 22 points, followed by Jalen Smith (13) and Lonzo Ball (11).
