Christian Pulisic helps snap a three-game losing run for AC Milan
With two goals to help the Rossoneri snap a three-game losing run in Serie A, Christian Pulisic has emerged as AC Milan's hero.
After hosts, Lecce had been ahead 2-0, Christian Pulisic first earned and converted a penalty to tie the score at 2-2. Then scored the game-winning goal in the closing seconds of a 3-2 triumph. As a consequence, Lecce stayed in 16th place and three points above the relegation zone, while Milan moved up to eighth place in the Italian league.
Later on Saturday, City rivals Inter moved four points clear of Napoli, who play Fiorentina on Sunday, at the top of the league after defeating bottom-place Monza, but they did it the hard way. To win 3-2 in Milan, the Nerazzurri again had to rally from a two-goal deficit. On the stroke of halftime, Keita Balde Diao, who was also celebrating his 30th birthday, increased the visitors' advantage, further shocking the San Siro. Samuele Birindelli put Monza ahead in the 32nd minute. But in the first half of extra time, Marko Arnautovic cut the lead, and in the 64th minute, Hakan Calhanoglu equalized.
