Inter defeated Lecce 4-0 at Via del Mare to keep up the pressure on Serie A leaders Napoli. With a game remaining, Simone Inzaghi's team moved within three points of the Partenopei, leading to his 200th Serie A victory as coach. After just six minutes, Inter broke the tie when Davide Frattesi volleyed home after Marcus Thuram had deftly manoeuvred his way into the area.
Six minutes before halftime, Lautaro Martinez sprinted into the area and fired into the top corner to increase the lead. In the 57th minute, the captain changed the play by finding Denzel Dumfries, who hammered past Wladimiro Falcone of Lecce from a close angle. Just after the hour, Mehdi Taremi sealed the win from the penalty spot after Falcone had tripped Frattesi, adding even more glitz to the scoreline.
