Arsenal transfer target Joshua Kimmich has verbally agreed a new contract with Bayern Munich and is expected to stay with the German giants despite interest from elsewhere
Joshua Kimmich's contract with Bayern Munich is about to be extended after the team approved a new agreement for the midfield player. The 30-year-old Germany international has been allowed to talk to foreign teams since January and was scheduled to become a free agent this summer. Since joining the German powerhouses from RB Leipzig in 2015, Kimmich has won eight Bundesliga championships and the Champions League, and Arsenal is one of the teams vying for his services.
It was recently revealed that Kimmich had reached a deal with Max Eberl, the club's sports director. However, the club's supervisory board still needed to approve the potential deal, so they convened on Thursday. The details of said meeting have now been revealed by Sky Sport Germany, who report that the club have approved Kimmich's new deal and that the midfielder is set to put pen to paper imminently.
