Barcelona defeated relegation-threatened Valencia 7-1
Barcelona ran riot at Camp Nou on Sunday, putting seven past lowly Valencia to close the gap to LaLiga's top two.
Barcelona defeated relegation-threatened Valencia 7-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday, resuming their winning ways in La Liga in spectacular form. Following their victory over Real Valladolid, leaders Real Madrid now lead the league by seven points, while Hansi Flick's team is now only three points behind second-place Atletico Madrid. With only three minutes remaining, Frenkie de Jong took Lamine Yamal's cross into the box, touched the ball, and then stabbed it home to start the carnage.
Five minutes later, Ferran Torres helped Barcelona extend their lead by guiding Alejandro Balde's pass past Giorgi Mamardashvili's reach. Soon after, Raphinha extended his scoring run by grabbing Fermin Lopez's through pass and finishing by round Mamardashvili to put the match beyond Valencia. After Raphinha's attempt struck the post, Lopez's second goal bounced beautifully into his path, giving Flick's team a five-goal lead going into halftime.
