Ocon calls Haas move a ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ after Alpine exit
Esteban Ocon admits switching from Alpine to Haas has been a breath of fresh air.
Esteban Ocon admits his move from Alpine to Haas has been a refreshing change. His tenure at Alpine ended abruptly before the season finale in Abu Dhabi, with Jack Doohan stepping in early. Even his teammate Pierre Gasly acknowledged the sudden departure, saying, “We didn’t really get to say goodbye.”
Now at Haas, Ocon feels valued and heard. “I was comfortable right away. Everyone listens with open ears, ensuring I’m in the best situation,” he told L’Equipe. His requests, including a complete steering wheel redesign, were implemented swiftly—something he wasn’t used to at Alpine. Ocon refrains from dwelling on the negatives of his Alpine stint, choosing instead to focus on the future. “I’ve turned the page. Alpine will always have a place in my heart,” he said, wishing his former team well.
