Nottingham Forest and Liverpool share the spoils of the day

Forest, who began the season more likely to be in a relegation struggle than a title contest, lost a goal to Liverpool despite Liverpool's late-game pressure.

Following their 1-1 draw at Forest's raucous City Ground on Tuesday, the leaders have only managed one point from two games against the Premier League season's biggest surprise. This season, Liverpool has only lost once in 20 games, and that was against Forest, 1-0, at home in September. Nottingham Forest will be relieved to be gone from Liverpool.

Diogo Jota scored a header from a corner in the 66th minute, after coming on as a substituting, to give Liverpool a draw that kept them six points ahead of Forest, who dropped to second place in their unlikely Champions League qualifying attempt. Top scorer Chris Wood's goal in the eighth minute put Forest on track to defeat Arne Slot's club in an improbable home-and-away double. Liverpool is still in a great position to win a record-tying 20th English league title since they still have a game left against Forest.
