Napoli easily defeated Hellas Verona 2-0
Napoli continued their charge for the Serie A title by moving four points clear at the top of the table with a victory over Hellas Verona.
At the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Napoli easily defeated Hellas Verona 2-0, extending their advantage at the top of Serie A to four points.
Antonio Conte's team put up a strong performance after Inter defeated Venezia earlier on Sunday, putting them in a strong position to win the Scudetto this season. Giovanni Di Lorenzo's strike struck the post and rebounded into the net off visiting custodian Lorenzo Montipo in the fifth minute, giving Napoli the lead. Shortly after, Scott McTominay could have increased the lead when he picked up an open Frank Anguissa, but he sent his attempt far over the crossbar. After that, McTominay's attempt went just wide of Montipo's goal after Romelu Lukaku's close-range attempt went just past the left-hand post. After the interval, Napoli maintained their superiority, and Anguissa's incredible shot from outside the box into the net was a reward for their tenacity.
