Serie A leaders Napoli defeated Torino 1-0
Napoli extended their lead at the top of Serie A to four points with a victory at Torino on Sunday.
Serie A leaders Napoli defeated Torino 1-0 on the road on Sunday thanks to a goal from Scott McTominay in the first half. They now lead the standings by four points as a consequence, while Torino is only four points above the relegation zone in 12th place. Despite the close result, the visitors had an easy game, scoring 1.44 goals and 16 shots to the hosts' 0.26 goals and five shots. After Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's brilliant ball in the 31st minute, McTominay broke the deadlock with a brilliant moment.
The league leaders had an easy second half and had opportunities to increase their advantage via Romelu Lukaku and Mathias Olivera. With their seventh in nine league games (W1 D1), Torino's loss here moved them closer to the relegation situation in Serie A. They now only have four points more than third-bottom Como before visiting midtable Genoa the following weekend.
