Max Verstappen's future at Red Bull is once again in doubt

Verstappen grows frustrated at Red Bull as performance declines.

Red Bull Advisor Dr. Helmut Marko, stated he cannot ensure the Dutchman will be with the team for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Verstappen, who has a deal with Red Bull until the 2028 season, has seen that his once-unstoppable success is faltering this season.

Red Bull hasn't won in the previous six races, after having won every race in 2023 and getting off to a strong start in 2024. Verstappen has gone so far as to remark that the team has made the vehicle "into a monster," so if he continues to be frustrated, he could go elsewhere. Verstappen now leads McLaren's Lando Norris by 62 points in the Drivers' standings, but Red Bull is only eight points clear of their rivals from Woking in the Constructors' Championship. Red Bull's concerning decline in performance is making their current 2024 campaign worse.
