At the Mexico City Grand Prix, tensions rose as Lando Norris and Max Verstappen clashed for the second time in a week. This time, Verstappen faced penalties for his aggressive moves.
In their previous encounter at the U.S. GP, Norris received a five-second penalty for going wide and gaining an advantage, which the McLaren driver argued was due to Verstappen pushing him off. In Mexico, however, Norris appeared to take lessons from Austin. Battling for second place in the early stages of the race, he strategically attempted an outside pass at turn four, nudging ahead before the apex. Verstappen responded aggressively, pushing Norris onto the grass, leading to a 10-second penalty for the Red Bull driver. Later, Verstappen tried to retake the position at turn seven but ran wide after a bold dive down the inside, earning yet another 10-second penalty. Martin Brundle criticized Verstappen’s “ridiculous” tactics.
