The German international has been in scintillating form for Bayer Leverkusen and is reportedly interested in a move to Madrid. However, City manager Pep Guardiola views Wirtz as the ideal successor to Kevin De Bruyne, making him a priority target for the Premier League champions. Bayern Munich could also enter the mix, given Wirtz’s impressive record of 29 caps for Germany.
