Tottenham’s first home league win for 105 days

Tottenham’s first home league win for 105 days eased the pressure on its Australian manager Ange Postecoglou, with his team moving above United into 12th place with 30 points.

James Maddison's early goal for Tottenham Hotspur was sufficient for his team to defeat struggling Manchester United 1-0 in an exciting match on Sunday, ending a winless home run in the Premier League. After 13 minutes, Maddison, who had returned to the starting lineup following an injury, scored a close-range rebound to end a match in which both teams displayed their weaknesses.

With Tottenham's first league victory at home in 105 days, Australian manager Ange Postecoglou felt less pressure as his club moved up to 12th place with 30 points, surpassing United. However, United boss Ruben Amorim's difficult start at Old Trafford is still going strong; since taking over, the Portuguese manager has lost eight of his 14 Premier League games. His side dropped to 15th with 29 points as it became the first United outfit to suffer defeats in a league double against Spurs since the 1989-90 season.
