Curtis Jones Fit for Merseyside Derby Against Everton, Confirms Arne Slot
Arne Slot has confirmed he will make wholesale changes against Everton while one Liverpool star has been passed fit after injury
Curtis Jones is set to be available for Liverpool’s Merseyside derby clash against Everton on Wednesday night. The midfielder was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s shocking FA Cup exit to Plymouth Argyle, as he continues his return from a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury.
Manager Arne Slot revealed that Jones was initially set to start against Plymouth but withdrew from contention on the morning of the match. The 24-year-old had previously made an impact off the bench in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth earlier this month and then played 72 minutes in the Reds’ dominant 4-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur. However, concerns arose after he was left out against Plymouth, following his absence from games against Ipswich Town and PSV Eindhoven due to an injury setback suffered against Lille last month.
