Mbappe scores a hat trick to give Real Madrid a four-point lead at the top
Kylian Mbappe's triple goal gives Real Madrid, the league leaders, a greater advantage over Atletico Madrid.
On Saturday, Kylian Mbappe maintained his impressive play by scoring a hat-trick to lead Real Madrid to a 3-0 victory against Valladolid and a four-point advantage at the top of La Liga. After battling with consistency after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, Mbappe has now reached his devastating peak. Only Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski has more league goals than the French superstar, who now has 15 for the season. In the 30th minute, Jude Bellingham pushed a deflected ball through to Mbappe, who curled into the top corner as Madrid began to chip away at their opponents.
Then, from a position identical to his earlier goal in the 57th minute, Rodrygo Goes slid in the forward, who curled a low attempt past goalkeeper Karl Hein. In the closing moments, Mario Martin dived into a foul on Bellingham in the area, and Mbappe finished his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
