Udinese defeated wasteful Empoli 3-0

Udinese defeated wasteful Empoli 3-0 thanks to a header from Florian Thauvin after Jurgen Ekkelenkamp was twice in the right position at the right time. After a thrilling 1-1 tie with Napoli on the road, the Friulani were without Maduka Okoye, Isaak Touré, and Keinan Davis. However, with just two points in the previous nine matches, Empoli was slipping into danger territory. Tino Anjorin, Ardian Ismajli, Mattia Viti, Jacopo Fazzini, Ola Solbakken, Nicolas Haas, Pietro Pellegri, and Saba Sazonov were all injured, while Luca Marianucci began a two-match suspension.
Arthur Atta's pull-back in the first few minutes caused Lorenzo Lucca's acrobatic scissor-kick volley to miss, while Lorenzo Colombo had two chances charged down and Emmanuel Gyasi's angled drive was well-smothered. Christian Kouame should’ve done better when drilling wide on a Liam Henderson counter-attack, while Marco Silvestri made a splendid save against his former club on the Sandi Lovric curler.
