Juventus overcame their Champions League elimination with a 1-0 victory over lowly Cagliari, led by the game's lone goal by Dusan Vlahovic.

After losing to PSV in the playoff round of Europe's top tournament in the middle of the week, Thiago Motta's team played confidently at Sardegna Arena and would have won much more easily on an other day. To seal all three points and move Juventus into the fourth and final Champions League berth in Serie A, Vlahovic scored his eighth goal of his career against Cagliari. The breakthrough came in the 12th minute when the Serbian international spotted Yerry Mina slackly handling the ball, rounded goalie Elia Caprile, and slid into the open goal. Shortly after, Francisco Conceicao was again kept out from a close distance, and Caprile was quick to deny the former Fiorentina player one-on-one.
