Bologna defeat AC Milan 2-1

AC Milan went ahead through Rafael Leao against Bologna on Thursday, yet succumbed to a second-half comeback.

The 2-1 loss to Bologna delivered a serious blow to AC Milan's prospects of finishing in the top four of Serie A. With 12 games left, Milan is eight points behind Juventus in fourth place, in eighth place overall with 41 points. Thursday's match was rescheduled after it was cancelled in October due to floods, and Bologna had to earn it the hard way after Rafael Leao's goal two minutes before halftime.

Three minutes into the second half, Giovanni Fabbian flicked a free kick into the area, and Santiago Castro headed it in, putting Milan behind. The VAR verified the goal despite the Rossoneri's protests and request for handball. Lukasz Skorupski made a vital stop just after the hour, but Yunus Musah came close to giving Milan the lead again. Nicolo Cambiaghi headed the rebound over the bar after Nicolo Casale headed against the post, but the latter made up for his error eight minutes from the end.
