The top flight team most interested in signing the young striker was the Granata last summer. But Pio Esposito ultimately chose to remain in Spezia.  The 19-year-old was already on loan at the Ligurian club for the previous season. And he made the decision to stay there in order to keep growing. It appears like Pio Esposito made the right choice in staying at Spezia. This season, the youthful striker has been playing at a high level. This season, he has already scored thirteen goals in Serie B.
