Due to injuries and poor form, Manchester United appears to be getting worse. In addition to the already terrible loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday, Lisandro Martinez sustained a catastrophic injury that will keep him out for months. Ruben Amorim then failed to sign any deadline-day players, which was always the plan. As they try to avoid exceeding last season's worst-ever Premier League finish, those at Old Trafford will have to settle for less.  

When United looks to get the forward back to Amorim, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon is probably at the top of their shopping list. Gyokeres, who is currently among Europe's most productive attackers, was a wise acquisition when he relocated to Portugal. A team may be able to bring Harry Kane back to England at a reduced cost when his release clause is activated in January of next year. Before deciding to join Bayern Munich, the striker was strongly linked to a transfer to Manchester.
