Manchester City spent big in the January transfer window - and may be about to spend even more
January saw a lot of transactions due to Manchester City's squad makeover. Despite a recent comeback, the Sky Blues appear to have little chance of winning the Premier League again this season after plummeting to the bottom at the end of 2024. Last weekend's 5-1 loss to Arsenal supported such assertions even more.
Pep Guardiola has already set his sights on another signing that might be finalised come summertime, after spending an incredible £180 million in the last transfer window. The departure of Milan-bound Kyle Walker, who is named No. 5 on FourFourTwo's list of the greatest Premier League defenders of all time, was perhaps one of the window's most talked-about topics. City decided to spend heavily on players like Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Vitor Reis, and Abdukodir Khusanov. However, considering his stellar achievements in Serie A thus far this season, Manchester City was said to be quite interested in this Italian star.
