Liverpool beat Man City 2-0 to extend lead at the top to 11 points

After star Mohamed Salah scored the first goal and assisted Dominik Szoboszlai with the second, Liverpool advanced 11 points ahead at the top of the Premier League on Sunday,

With a game left, Arne Slot's team leads second-place Arsenal with 64 points after 27 games. City's early-season pursuit of a sixth consecutive title has devolved into a race for a Champions League berth, leaving them 20 points behind Liverpool in fourth place on 44.

After a corner, Salah scored his league-high 25th goal of the season in the 14th minute with a dazzling strike from close to the top of the box that ricocheted off City defender Nathan Ake's outstretched foot and past goalie Ederson. Szoboszlai doubled the lead in the 37th minute by taking advantage of City's terrible defence. To the dismay of City fans, whose gloomy mood was exacerbated by the pouring rain, Salah found the unmarked Hungarian in the box for a simple ball into the net.
