Estevao Willian breaks Neymar record ahead of Chelsea move
As he is ready to go to Chelsea for £51 million this summer, Estevao Willian keeps setting records in Brazil
He helped Palmeiras defeat Sao Bernardo 3-0 in the Campeonato Paulista last weekend with his fifth goal of 2025. In a spectacular effort from beyond the box, Estevao took down the ball, kept his opponent at his back, and blasted a rocket into the top corner. He would score two goals in his 82 minutes on the pitch, the first of which was this one. The Brazilian media has praised the 17-year-old for his incredible goal.
While the Playoffs noted that he had scored 30 goals, surpassing Neymar and becoming the first Brazilian player to do so before turning 18, Tribuna called his performance "a thing of beauty." Globo Esporte, meanwhile, emphasised Estevao's significance to Palmeiras, pointing out that the young player's excellent play has brought the Brazilian powerhouses one step closer to capturing the Paulistao for the fourth consecutive year.
