Brighton spoiled Arsenal's winning start to the new Premier League season with a 1-1 draw at The Emirates on Saturday, with the hosts clinging on with 10 men following Declan Rice's second-half dismissal. Arsenal controlled the first half and led rightfully at halftime thanks to Kai Havertz's superb strike in the 38th minute, set up by Bukayo Saka. However, four minutes into the second half, Rice was sent out for a second yellow card, making Arsenal's task harder. Joao Pedro, a Brazilian striker, equalized for Brighton 12 minutes later.

Both teams had good opportunities to win the game late on, but they settled for a draw, keeping Arsenal and Brighton unblemished in their first three games. With champions Manchester City also heading into this weekend's games on a two-game winning streak, Arsenal understands that any slip-up, especially this early in the season, could be expensive.
