According to reports, Newcastle United may make a bid in the January transfer window to acquire Manchester United attacker Antony. In the closing days of the summer transfer window, the Magpies attempted to buy Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest; however, the Reds turned down their bid, which was reportedly valued at up to £50 million.

At the beginning of 2025, Newcastle will rekindle their interest in Elanga; but, should they fail once more, Eddie Howe's team may turn their focus to Antony. Despite the Brazilian's setbacks since joining Man United in 2022, Howe is said to be a fan of the forward, and Man United would demand about £40 million for him. Fenerbahce has been mentioned as a potential destination for Antony, as the Turkish transfer window is still open. Antony's first Red Devils game this season came on August 24 against Brighton & Hove Albion as a late substitution.
