Head's explosive batting lit up a cold evening, smashing a record-breaking 19-ball half-century, the fastest by an Australian against England. His 59 off 23 balls, supported by Matt Short's 41 and Josh Inglis's 37, set Australia on course to 179 despite a mid-innings collapse. 

England's chase faltered at 151, undone by Hazlewood's precise bowling and Zampa's spin, while a stunning fielding effort from Tim David helped seal the win. Head's assault on Sam Curran, particularly a 30-run over, stood out as Australia made the most of a powerful start before England's fightback restricted them. In the opening three matches of the three-match T20 series, which continues in Cardiff on Friday, Australia emerged victorious with Hazlewood finishing with 2-32 and all-rounder Sean Abbott impressing with 3-28 off 3.2 overs.
