With the loss, Palace moves up to 14th place, surpassing Manchester United, while Leicester drops to 19th place, two points from safety. The contrast in how the strikers from the two sides finished was what decided the outcome on a night when Leicester had the opportunity to force a result. Even though Vardy sprinted clear on goal within the opening 20 minutes, he failed to take any of the six shots on target he took, the most of any Leicester player in a league game this season.
