The Houston Rockets defeated the visiting Memphis Grizzlies 120-118 on Monday after rallying from a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit, led by Jalen Green, who scored 42 points, matching his career best. With 9:55 remaining, Jake LaRavia stole the ball and made a layup to give the Grizzlies a 100-87 lead. Then the Rockets started to recover. A Fred VanVleet 3-pointer with 4:33 remaining gave Houston a 107-105 advantage, setting up a nail-biting finish. In the fourth quarter, there were two ties and seven lead changes.
With 33.8 seconds remaining, Green made a driving layup to give Houston the lead. While teammate Alperen Sengun recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, Houston's Amen Thompson recorded 19 points, 13 rebounds, five blocks, and two steals. Off the bench, Cam Whitmore scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers. Houston shot 50.6 percent overall and hit 16 of 31 from beyond the arc.
