Liverpool loses shockingly, 1-0, at home to Nottingham Forest

Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the lone goal as Liverpool lost their first match at Anfield since 1969 to Forest.

Nottingham Forest defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield on Saturday, thanks to a fantastic goal from substitute Callum Hudson-Odoi in the second half. It was the biggest upset victory of the Premier League season thus far for Nottingham Forest.

The victory marked Forest's first at Anfield since 1969, and the players and visiting supporters rejoiced appropriately, leaving the home audience to lament the Reds' aimless performance that lacked creativity. In the 17th minute, Luis Diaz almost broke the stalemate as Liverpool controlled the first half. He hustled to keep the ball in play on the Forest goal-line, cut inside and then sent a rasping drive against the near post. Liverpool upped the pressure two minutes later when Mohamed Salah exquisitely crossed with the outside of his left boot, only for Dominik Szoboszlai to head just wide. In the 72nd minute, Anthony Elanga's deft crossfield pass to fellow substitute Hudson-Odoi saw the 23-year-old winger cut inside and send a fantastic shot past goalkeeper Alisson.
