Knicks Eye Robinson, Anunoby Returns After Full-Team Practice
New York Knicks had their entire roster participate in practice on Wednesday, hinting at possible post-All-Star break returns for Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby.
For the first time this season, the New York Knicks had their entire roster participate in practice on Wednesday, hinting at possible post-All-Star break returns for Mitchell Robinson and OG Anunoby. Robinson, sidelined since May due to ankle surgery, took part in full 5-on-5 scrimmages alongside Anunoby, who recently recovered from a sprained right foot.
Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau remained non-committal about their availability for Thursday’s game against the Bulls. "Mitch was good, OG was good," Thibodeau said, emphasizing that medical clearance is still pending. "He [Robinson] looks good but needs to regain his timing." Robinson’s return could impact the Knicks' rotation, particularly by reducing Karl-Anthony Towns' minutes at center. His rim protection, rebounding, and defensive presence will be key. "He’ll need time, but his hustle, pick-and-roll play, and rebounding will make an immediate difference," Thibodeau added.
