Grizzlies Unlikely to Trade Ja Morant Despite Speculation
Memphis remains committed to Morant despite speculation.
Many are curious as to if the Memphis Grizzlies may do the same with Ja Morant after the Dallas Mavericks suddenly moved their franchise player, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. As some speculated about possible trade destinations for Morant, NBA commentator Howard Beck put out the suggestion. Zack Kleiman, the general manager of the Grizzlies, is apparently uninterested. Kleiman cannot hold Morant responsible for igniting interest in trade for the score-first guard from other NBA teams. But according to Drew Hill of The Memphian, his starting guard isn't anticipated to be available this summer.
With the second-best record in the Western Conference rankings, the Grizzlies will start the regular season. With a 36-18 record and an 8.0-game deficit to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Grizzlies will try to put some distance between themselves and the Denver Grizzlies (36-19) in the second half of the 2024–25 season.
