Karim Adeyemi and Serhou Guirassy lead Dortmund to a win.
After a very strong first-half effort by the home team, Borussia Dortmund defeated St. Pauli 2-0 on the road on Matchday 24 thanks to goals from Karim Adeyemi and Serhou Guirassy in the second half. Dortmund wanted to capitalize on their resounding 6-0 success against Union Berlin, while the hosts came into this game looking to snap a skid of three straight league losses. The importance of the game to their respective campaigns was known to both teams.
Five minutes into the second half, Guirassy put Dortmund ahead by tapping in a ball from Karim Adeyemi. Guirassy had just scored four goals in the team's 6-0 thumping of Union Berlin the previous time out. Eight minutes later, Adeyemi scored a superb solo goal to put Dortmund ahead. One of the smallest players on the field, Adeyemi, 23, grabbed a long pass and utilized his muscle to wrestle past two defenders before putting the ball in.
