Inter options to replace Dimarco
Simone Inzaghi admits that there is still a decision to be made at wing-back ahead of Inter’s Champions League
Before Inter's Champions League round of 16 first leg against Feyenoord on Wednesday, Simone Inzaghi acknowledges that a choice at wing-back is still up in the air. However, he has disclosed that one of two Nerazzurri center-backs is expected to take Federico Dimarco's position due to injury. Due to the Nerazzurri's wing-back injury issue, Denzel Dumfries is the only available and healthy option on either flank. Carlos Augusto, Nicola Zalewski, Matteo Darmian, and Dimarco are all out.
To cover the void at left wing-back against Feyenoord, Inzaghi will need to either rearrange his squad or choose a player who isn't a natural fit. According to Tuesday's sources, a 3-5-2 with a centre-back playing out at wing-back is the most likely scenario, despite claims that Inter will go from a 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 to address the Dimarco issue.
