Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, marking the return of all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga. The tour, starting December 28, includes three ODIs and three T20Is. Hasaranga’s comeback is a major boost, as he missed the last home series against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury.

Led by Charith Asalanka, the squad features three changes. Promising speedster Eshan Malinga earns his maiden call-up after taking 20 wickets in 12 List A matches at an average of 25.15. Lahiru Kumara, returning after last playing in March 2024, and batter Nuwanidu Fernando, replacing Sadeera Samarawickrama, also make the list. However, Kusal Perera and Dilshan Madushanka miss out. Meanwhile, the T20I squad remains unchanged from the previous series against New Zealand.
