USA beat India's record
In a stunning reversal of fortune, the USA defeated Oman by 122 runs in the current ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 on Tuesday,
February 18, setting a record for the lowest total ever successfully defended in men's ODIs. They broke the previous mark of 125, set by India against Pakistan in the first Rothmans Four-Nation Cup match in Sharjah in 1985.
After being assigned to bat first in match 54 of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, the United States of America scored a pitiful 122 runs. On what appeared to be a pitch meant primarily for spin spinners, Oman was bowled out for just 65 runs in reply, failing to chase down the goal. This game had 19 wickets taken by spinners, which is the joint-highest number of wickets taken by spinners in an ODI match. Furthermore, the whole match was bowled by nine bowlers, all of whom were spinners, making it the first men's ODI ever to be finished without a single over being delivered by a fast bowler.
