India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was on Monday named the new captain of Lucknow Super Giants for the upcoming edition of IPL.
Rishabh Pant, a batsman and wicketkeeper for India, was announced on Monday as the Lucknow Super Giants' new captain for the next IPL season. Pant became the most expensive player in IPL auction history when the Lucknow-based team paid an incredible Rs 27 crore to secure his services. The 27-year-old, who formerly led the Delhi Capitals, took over as captain of LSG from fellow countryman KL Rahul. Owner Sanjiv Goenka also showered the ace wicketkeeper with admiration during the occasion in Kolkata when LSG introduced Pant as the captain.
According to Goenka, he anticipates that Pant will play for LSG for at least 14–15 years and win at least "five titles." "Surely Rishabh Pant will play for at least 14-15 years for us, we hope at least five IPL titles in these years," Goenka stated on Star Sports.
