Rishabh Pant Faces Major Criticism After Delhi Premier League Debut

Indian cricket team wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scored 35 off 32 balls for Purani Dilli 6 in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) match against South Delhi Superstarz on Saturday.

In Saturday's Delhi Premier League (DPL) encounter between Purani Dilli 6 and South Delhi Superstarz, Indian cricket team wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scored 35 runs off 32 balls. The speed of the innings did not resemble Pant's usual style, but his difficulties against spin garnered significant backlash on social media. Pant's knock finished with a strike rate of just 109 despite having four fours and one six. While Pant performed admirably in the T20 World Cup 2024, supporters pointed out that he was unable to play large knocks, given that they had anticipated him to score heavily at the end of the innings.

The vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajeev Shukla, and the president of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), Rohan Jaitley, honored the left-handed wicketkeeper-batter before the game for his outstanding efforts in India's ICC T20 World Cup victory.
