Babar Azam & Shaheen Shah Afridi Likely To Be Rested

Pakistan's men's cricket team will travel to Zimbabwe next month to take part in a three-match ODI series, which will be followed by a three-match T20I series.

Star Babar Azam, a former captain of Pakistan and hitter, will be rested before the next white-ball Zimbabwe tour. Pakistan will play a three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe in November, followed by a three-match T20I series. Babar, who resigned as ODI captain last year, and prominent bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will not be selected for the Zimbabwe trip, according to a report published in Cricket Pakistan on Sunday, October 20.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) selection committee is "contemplating leaving out 4 to 5 key players to provide younger talent with the opportunity to gain experience in foreign conditions," according to the information that is currently available. Due to poor form, Babar, who captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, was left out of the Pakistani team for the final two Tests of the current three-match series against England on October 13.
