Chicago Bulls could land Zach LaVine

The Chicago Bulls are stuck in no man's land right now - not good enough to compete and not bad enough to tank. That is the last place you want to be as an organization in the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls find themselves in a precarious position—too good to tank, but not competitive enough to contend. One way to embrace a full rebuild would be moving Zach LaVine, their star player who's under contract for $138 million over the next three years. While LaVine is a two-time All-Star and one of the Bulls' best players, his hefty contract is a burden for a team without championship aspirations. Injury concerns have complicated finding a trade partner, but the Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as a potential destination.

With LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers need another key piece to contend, and LaVine could fit the bill. A proposed trade would send LaVine to L.A. in exchange for D'Angelo Russell, whose expiring contract could benefit the Bulls financially. As Eric Pincus from *Bleacher Report* suggests, this move could be a win for both teams in addressing their current roster needs.
