Charles Leclerc rebounded from an early crash to top the timesheets for Ferrari in the second practice session of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Leclerc, a three-time pole-sitter at the Baku street circuit, crashed into the barriers at Turn 15 during the first practice, damaging the front right section of his car. Unhurt, he returned to the garage where Ferrari's mechanics swiftly made repairs.
In an unusual scene, the Ferrari team formed a human wall around Leclerc's car to block its view as they installed a new power steering system. Leclerc then set the fastest lap of 1:43.484, edging out Red Bull's Sergio Perez by just 0.006 seconds. Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton finished third, 0.066 seconds behind. Carlos Sainz was fourth in the second Ferrari, followed by McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, who led the first practice, in sixth.
